South Penquite Farm
Re: Peak Oil
by Gwion
Hello, I drop in on your blog from time to time as we run a similar farm and B&B blog ourselves. I smiled when I read about the affluent having AGA's and the lamb warming properties of your Rayburn. We have a Rayburn naturally. And like you converted it to oil some years ago. My parents used to incinerate dead lambs in the multy-fuel version that we had. I remember my dad leaving one unfortunate lamb in the coal bucket for my mum to dispose of later on. Looking at the empty bucket my mum asked if I had already put the carcase in the burner. On that we heard a pathetic “mee’ from the other side of the kitchen and a rather sooty lamb looking back at us. ‘Lasurus’ went on to live with us for about 10 years after that. Did you know that Dr Dalen was blind which is why the AGA has no sharp edges dials to read. Gwion.
